On Monday, November 16th at 2:43 a.m., Olympia Police officers were dispatched to multiple reports of gunshots being fired in the area of the 1700 block of Capitol Way. Arriving police units discovered a body lying in the southbound lane of Capitol Way. The victim in this case has been identified as 40-year-old Shawn Peterson of Tumwater, who died as a result of his wounds. A witness observed a dark colored compact vehicle fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting.

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008In the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 20th, a male from Guatemala was found deceased in front of the Greyhound station at 107 7th Avenue SE in downtown Olympia. Olympia Police determined that the death of the victim was the result of homicidal violence.
