On October 4th at about 4:45 in the morning, occupants of a home in the 3600 block of Lake Forest Ct SE awoke to a loud boom and found that their house was nearly fully engulfed in flames. The mother and teenage son were able to escape from the house and were not injured. An investigation into the cause of the fire revealed that accelerants were used and that the fire was intentionally set.

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 27th, at about 3:30 a.m., a white 1997 Cadillac Deville was set ablaze in the 7900 block of Martin Way East. A marine flare was used to set the fire. Several witnesses gave statements, and detectives are seeking to identify the arsonist.

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, June 14th, an arson was reported at the North Thurston High School.
The fire occurred at the front entrance to the school, where it appeared that a device was thrown at the doors to cause the fire. Lying on the ground was a small glass flower vase that contained an unknown liquid.

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010There have been two suspicious fires to residences in the area of Dawn Hill Drive SE. One fire occurred in April and the second occurred May 9th. Both fires are believed to be the result of arson.
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office would like residents in the area to be aware of any suspicious persons or activity in the area, and to report this immediately.
