Between the 22nd and 23rd of September, a theft occurred at the Burlington Northern train tracks at 184th and Bucoda Highway. Stolen was a “Hayes Derailer”, which mounts between railroad cars. It is made of steel and painted yellow, weighing approximately 100 lbs. The item is a safety device to prevent train collisions. The suspect may attempt to sell the item for metal scrap.

September 22, 2010

During the first week of September, a theft occurred at the KYB Farms on Steilacoom Road SE.

The suspects dug up 3-inch poly irrigation pipe and three irrigation control valves from a field at the property. The loss totaled over $1,400.

September 15, 2010

A burglary occurred to the Smoke and Beer Shop in the 7200 block of Martin Way East on September 7th. After forcing entry, the suspect disabled the surveillance camera and stole the computer. The suspect then stole cigarettes, lighters, glass smoking devices, and money. The damage and loss totals over $33,000.

September 8, 2010

Between the evening of August 14th and the morning of August 15th a residence was burglarized in the 600 block of Cushing Street SW.  The suspects broke into the house when it was unoccupied and stole laptop computers and an extensive collection of jewelry which included three one ounce gold bars, pearl necklaces, pearl bracelet, earrings, yellow gold women’s fashion bracelet with 42 bead set with round brilliant cut diamonds.  Also stolen were a man’s diamond wedding band, 14K women’s engagement ring stamped y/g with one round full cut diamond.

On August 11th, a burglary occurred at the Dinners Done Right business in the 8600 block of Martin Way.

The suspect forced entry and then stole the safe, which contained a small amount of cash. The safe was later located in the Tacoma area in a brushy area near the Tacoma Dome.
