Since the first of January, there have been over 88 vehicle prowls reported in the City of Lacey. In over 60 cases, the victim reported either a car window was smashed or the car had been left unlocked. In 40 of those cases, either a purse or GPS unit was easily viewed inside the vehicle.

The Lacey Police Department wants the public to be aware of the risk when leaving property visible inside a vehicle.

Some time during the evening hours of Sunday, January 31st and early morning hours of Monday, February 1st, the Rivers Edge Restaurant located at 4611 Tumwater Valley Drive SE was burglarized.

The suspects stole two 46″ Panasonic LCD televisions and an HP laptop from inside the restaurant. The loss to the business is estimated at $2,200.

February 10, 2010

Just after midnight on February 9th, a male victim exited a restaurant in the 500 block of Sleater Kinney Road SE to his car. Once he got into his car, he was confronted by three males with blue bandannas over their faces. They demanded that the victim open his car door. Once it was open, they began punching the victim in the face and making demands. The victim drove off, striking one suspect with the car door. The suspect then stabbed the victim’s leg twice with a four-inch blade.

The suspects were described as Hispanic males with accents. After the assault, they ran across Sleater Kinney to a fast food restaurant.

On Monday, February 1st, at about 8:25 a.m., the Subway shop in the 3400 block of Pacific Avenue SE was robbed.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 50’s, wearing a female wig, sunglasses, jeans, tennis shoes, and a blue/gray jacket. He had a thin face and spoke with a mumble.

The suspect fled on foot along the wooded trail behind the business.
