On Wednesday, November 11th, just after 1:30 a.m., two males robbed the Burger King on Yelm Avenue in Yelm.  They forced the employees at gunpoint to a back office, where they were tied up.

One suspect was a white male, mid twenties, dark blue sweatshirt, black pants and a blue mask over his face.  The second male was possibly Hispanic in his mid twenties.

The gun was possibly a black semi-automatic handgun.

November 18, 2009

On Monday, November 16th at 2:43 a.m., Olympia Police officers were dispatched to multiple reports of gunshots being fired in the area of the 1700 block of Capitol Way.  Arriving police units discovered a body lying in the southbound lane of Capitol Way.  The victim in this case has been identified as 40-year-old Shawn Peterson of Tumwater, who died as a result of his wounds.  A witness observed a dark colored compact vehicle fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting.

November 11, 2009

On August 23, 2009, a robbery occurred in the 9200 block of 46th Avenue NE.  Two victims reported they met up with two males and one female in Pierce County to attend a party in the Olympia area.  After traveling to Lacey, the vehicle stopped and the two males each produced handguns and robbed the victims.

Two of the suspects have been apprehended in this case.  The third suspect was identified as David Mapu, 21 years old, 5-11, 250 lbs, Pacific Islander.  There is an active warrant for 1st Degree Robbery for Mapu.

November 4, 2009

On October 31st unknown suspects broke into several portable classrooms  at the Olympia Regional Learning Center located in the 2000 block of 26th Avenue NE.   The thieves stole backpacks, assorted computer equipment, cameras, and a projector.  The majority of the stolen items were found the next day in the bushes at Friendly Grove Park which is located in the 2300 block of Friendly Grove Road.   A Dell laptop computer and a Hitachi projector are still missing with an estimated value of $1200.00.
